During the ODI series vs Australia, there was a big debate whether he was still the right man to lead the Men in Blue. Much to his relief, after a 1-4 loss in the ODI series, Dhoni's men fought hard in the T20I series which they comprehensively won 3-0. The Ranchi cricketer didn't get many opportunities to showcase his big-hitting skills, but now that he has a settled squad at his disposal, Indian fans could be rest assured for some fireworks from his willow.

He is making a comeback into the Sri Lankan team after a gap of five years. In the absence of Lasith Malinga, he will have to spearhead the Sri Lankan pace attack and the 36-year-old has a great opportunity to put up a good show in the series, post which he could be a strong contender for a spot in the team's 15-man squad for ICC World Twenty20 2016.

Long ago, he was touted to be the next big thing in Sri Lankan cricket. But even though he has played brilliant knocks, they have come in patches and Chandimal is yet to prove his mettle at the international stage. In the absence of key players, there would be a huge responsibility on his shoulders and Chandimal has a great opportunity to show he deserves to lead the side in the shortest format of the game.

The veteran's comeback for the T20I series was long awaited, however he didn't get many opportunities to entertain the fans. Even though he played a couple of big strokes under pressure in the final T20I, Indian fans continue to miss the Yuvi of the old, who could stay at the crease and score boundaries at will. The series against Sri Lanka will be a huge opportunity for the southpaw to regain some form ahead of T20 World Cup.
