New Delhi: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly echoed BCCI Chief Anurag Thakur's comments on India-Pakistan cricket, when the latter said that there is no point in talking of resuming cricketing ties until Pakistan stops cross-border terrorism in India.
In an interview with Aaj Tak, Ganguly said, "This has happened earlier also when cricket between the two countries was cancelled. And when all this keeps happening at the border it is not just difficult but also not right to have cricket between the two. We all want India-Pakistan to play cricket but if they want to play then they (Pakistan) have to stop all this cross-border terrorism."
Supporting the statement made by Anurag, Dada added, "I know where Anurag is coming from. How can you have cricket in the backdrop of all this,"

Another former India player and two-time MP Chetan Chauhan didn't hold back his anger against Pakistan and said, "why only cricket, India should stop all contact with Pakistan till it stops harbouring terrorists - be it sports, films or anything else."
Chetan made a rather bold statement, wanting India to stop all forms of relations with Pakistan be it sports, films or something else.
Cricket, being the favourite sporting activity for both countries, has often ended up a victim of sour diplomatic relations.
The ICC World Twenty20 in March-April, the high-profile India-Pakistan match scheduled at Dharamshala was later shifted to Kolkata after Himachal Pradesh government failed to promis required security to players and staff.
Last time the two teams played a bilateral series was in 2012-13, when Pakistan visited India for three One-Day International and two Twenty20 Internationals.
The whole outrage was after Pakistani terrorists had killed 17 Indian soldiers in Uri.
