New Delhi: India Test captain Virat Kohli said that they "strive to bring more laurels, happiness and victories" after becoming number one ranked team in the world.
Talking to ICC, Virat said that he's "in a position of privilege rather than pressure" and he "always wanted to contribute in any way for the team".
India defeated New Zealand 3-0 in the three-match series at home, and reclaimed the numero uno spot from Pakistan.
In the process, Kohli became the first Indian batsman to hit two double centuries as a captain. Ending his poor home record, the skipper hit a magnificent 211 in the first innings of the third Test at Indore. He had previously scored 200 against West Indies at Antigua in July.
During the tete a tete, he also talked about the importance of winning matches at home and also how "people have started becoming captains individually".

Having already established himself as one of the top batsmen of modern times, Kohli led the Indian side to the epitome of Test cricket with his astute captaincy.
The series win against the visiting Kiwis was third on the trot, after beating Sri Lanka 2-1 at their own backyard, and thumping visiting South Africa 4-0.
India, under Kohli, is undefeated at home in 13 matches, and the record can only be improved with England, Bangladesh and Australia playing coming for Test series this season.
Since taking over captaincy reigns from MS Dhoni in December 2014, Kohli has managed 10 wins, 5 draws and 1 lose.
India will play New Zealand in a five-match ODI series, where Kohli will be Dhoni's deputy. After that Kohli will lead the national team against England in a five-Test series, starting November 8, at Rajkot.
It will be followed by ODI and T20I series of three matches each.
