New Delhi: In a gruesome incident, a man was hacked to death and his dismembered body stuffed inside a fridge in south Delhi's Saidulajab area, police said.

The victim has been identified as Uttarakhand native Vipin Joshi and had been missing since Monday night, they said.

The police said that both lived in rented accommodations separately, not very far from each other.

Based on preliminary investigation, police said that both Joshi and Mandal finished their work and left for latter's house on Monday, where they consumed alcohol till late.

Joshi's parents approached the police and filed a complaint about him missing after which police launched a manhunt to trace him.

The police added that his family members had, in search of him, reached his friend Badal Mandal's house here last evening.

The duo worked as bartenders at 'Fio Country Kitchen and Bar' that is located inside the Garden of Five Senses in Saket.

Though the house was locked, they were alarmed by a nauseating stench coming from the building, after which they called the police.

The police broke into the house and found the victim's body parts inside the fridge.

A case has been registered and efforts are on to trace Mandal, who has been absconding, police added.
