Respite from heat in Delhi; expect a pleasant Monday

"The sky on Monday will remain partly cloudy with a possibility of thunderstorm or lightning," an IMD official said.

New Delhi: Residents of the national capital on Sunday experienced a little respite from the excessive heat as the maximum temperature dropped by nearly two degrees to 37.8 degrees Celsius.

According to the India Meteorological Department, a further drop in the maximum temperature due to thunderstorms late on Monday was likely.

"The sky on Monday will remain partly cloudy with a possibility of thunderstorm or lightning. The maximum temperature will hover around 39 degrees in Delhi," an IMD official said.

On Sunday, the minimum settled at 25.8 degrees, three notches below the season`s average.

On Saturday, the national capital recorded a maximum of 39.5 degrees and a minimum of 27.4 degrees, both the season`s average so far.
