Who is the boss in Delhi - Arvind Kejriwal or LG? SC to hear AAP govt's plea

New Delhi: The Supreme Court is expected to take up on Tuesday an appeal moved by the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government challenging a previous Delhi High Court order which said that the Lieutenant Governor (LG) is the boss of Delhi.

Earlier on November 2, a five-judge Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court observed that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi needs the Lieutenant Governor's nod to govern the national capital.

However, the apex court also noted that the LG cannot sit on files beyond a reasonable period.

Gopal Subramanium, representing the Delhi government, had told the apex court that it has limited power and should be given more power.

The apex court bench before which the case is listed for hearing comprises Chief Justice Dipak Misra, justices A K Sikri, A M Khanwilkar, D Y Chandrachud and Ashok Bhushan.
