PATNA: A class 10 student who was declared failed by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) had actually scored 79 marks, an RTI has revealed.

The RTI (Right to Information Act) application was filed after Dhananjay Kumar got just two marks in the Hindi exam conducted by the board, ANI reported.

The incident highlights the existing lacunas in the educational system.

In September, the state's Veer Kunwar Singh University had canceled a degree exam paper after several instances of mass copying were reported in colleges.

About 87,000 candidates had appeared the exam conducted at 41 centers. The colleges under the university are spread over four districts.

The examination for the canceled papers was held later in the month.
