Washington: Johnny Depp has flown his dogs out of Australia, after the Minister for Agriculture threatened to euthanize them.

The 51-year-old actor had not declared his dogs when he arrived in Australia last month, and hence the animals were not quarantined. The quarantine procedure is mandatory for all animals coming to Australia, TMZ.com reported.

Depp flew the dogs back on a private jet just hours before officials had promised to euthanize them. The actor will have to pay a hefty fine for his rash action as smuggling of dogs is punishable for up to 10 years in jail in the island nation.
