New Delhi: `Hate Story 2`, a sequel to the Paoli Dam starrer `Hate Story`, marks the Bollywood debut of television actors Surveen Chawla and Jay Bhanushali.

The movie was much-awaited by Suvreen`s fans as she shed her former doll-look and adopted a more bold and sexy image for this movie.

`Hate Story 2` is woman-oriented revenge drama based on the lines of `Kill Bill` movies. Sonika (Suvreen), a ravishing beauty is the keep of a powerful and wicked politician Mandar Mhatre (Sushant Singh). He exploits Sonika in every way that is possible. But secretly she longs for true love and wants to have a go at it.

And as luck would have it, cupid strikes and she falls madly in love with her fellow photography student Akshay (Jay Bhanushali). The two love birds vouch for each other`s feelings and decide to run away from Mhatre`s reach.

Though Sonika warns Akshay of the danger he is in and of her reputation, he stands by his word of true love. And so they elope and are lost in their own dreamland, singing and making love.

What follows once Mhatre hunts the two down is a something to watch out for.

The end is quite predictable, where Sonika is seen taking successful revenge from Mhatre for all the wrong he has done to uproot her peaceful love life.

Directed by Vishal Pandya, the movie lacks a strong screen play. Surveen, Jay and Sushant have huge fan following in the TV world and have managed to deliver fair performances. However, the show stealer is Sushant who plays a negative role with precision.

Suvreen is laudable as she has done considerable justice to her character of a woman seeking revenge. Other supporting actors are nothing great to write about and are rather loud. Jay`s role doesn`t offer much and can be called off as a decent act.

Baby Doll Sunny Leone`s `Pink Lips` also looks quite forced in the movie and has nothing great to offer.

What it lacks is a strong plot for an erotic thriller. The film is certainly not high on sex as it`s trailer and posters promised. Dialogues are crisp and not unnecessarily burdened. The story line is quite stale and script quite illogical. Apart from that the story is quite overdone and predictable. Quite a disappointing thriller as it fails to keep you engaged.

If you are a Surveen fan, you can give it a try!
