Review: ‘Do Knot Disturb’ doesn’t make for consistent laughs!

Mumbai: Despite having Govinda in it, David Dhawan’s latest venture, ‘Do Knot Disturb’, falls short of the kind of magic it was expected to recreate. Inspired by the French film ‘La Doublure aka The Valet’, ‘Do Knot Distrub’ is based on the fun angle in extra-marital affairs, which is something David Dhawan has tackled very smartly in his blockbuster flicks in the past.

‘DKD’ is the story of a married man (Govinda), his beautiful and suspicious wife (Sushmita Sen) and his supermodel girlfriend (Lara Dutta). To save his skin, he hires a waiter (Ritesh Deshmukh) for pretend to date Lara, and all this leads to a series of mistaken identities.

Though there’s nothing great about the script of the movie, neither do the ‘supposedly funny’ situations seem to be working, but you still feel somewhat connected to the film, all thanks to Govinda! And there are a few really funny portions, full of mindless entertainment, which do manage to tickle your funny bone.

Riteish Deshmukh has successfully managed to match Govinda’s famous comic timings, and he actually manages it all with style. But Govinda apparently goes a little over the top this time, with his loud dialogue delivery. Amongst the ladies, Lara Dutta looks really hot, while Sush could have been presented in a better way, please!

On the whole, this one guarantees only a handful of chuckles, nothing more!

Rating: Two cheers!
