New Delhi: Actor-politician Ramya has landed in a huge controversy after praising Pakistan. If online reports are to be believed, the 33-year-old star is now facing sedition charges for the same.

According to a NDTV report, Ramya said, “Pakistan is not hell. People there are just like us.”

It is being claimed that she was referring to Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar's statement 'going to Pakistan is like going to hell' while making her remark.

Also, a sedition case has reportedly been filed by a lawyer against her in Kodagu in southern Karnataka.

Ramya is now facing massive outrage by political activists on social media as well. She is being tagged as 'anti-national'.

Hearing of the case will be conducted on August 17 this year.
