Mumbai: With his debut release ‘Company’ emerging as a Box Office winner, Vivek Oberoi became the golden boy of Bollywood, who was touted as the next big thing after the invincible Khans. Yet, destiny played a cruel joke with Vivek, as the actor had no inkling that the same industry which had once extolled praises on him will soon spurn him as an outcast!

The actor opened up his heart when he came on Farah Khan’s chat show ‘Tere Mere Beach Mein’ along with Ritesh Deshmukh and cricketer Sreesanth. Vivek also pondered over his mistakes that changed his life forever!

The actor spoke at length about his controversial fling with Aishwarya Rai that almost ruined his life as an actor and ended up as an object of constant ridicule and lost his friends, well wishers and work. Talking about the infamous press conference where he accused Salman of threatening him and the notorious episode of forty one missed calls pushed his to the brink, where the entire film industry branded him a pariah.

When Farah asked whether Aishwarya was grateful for his act - “Lekin jinke liye aapne yeh sab kiya unhone kabhi bhi aap ka saath diya? Appreciate hua?” a dejected Vivek blankly answered, “No! Ulta yeh hua ki “tum bahut immature ho.

Well, this was not all, as poor Vivek paid dearly on professional front for messing up with Salman, as the actor maintained, “I got this letter from the organisers of an award function that I’d won the award for ‘Company’… and then I was told that I shouldn’t attend it and later that award was given to someone else...I said I had the letter! I was fed up...I had only one goal in life, act in films but when this incident happened, people were told not to work with me. People started asking me to return the signing amounts saying that they can’t do the film with me coz they were facing pressure from here and there.”

Instead of earning friends, Vivek made adversaries and lost a dear friend in Sohail Khan as the actor continued, “What I did was very wrong but I didn’t kill anyone, neither did I harm anyone, I did not hurt anyone’s personal life but I was made to suffer a lot. Till today there are friends of yours and mine who say, ‘We’d love to work with you but what to do, we can’t!’ I am still dealing with that after having apologised. But more than Salman, I’m sad about Sohail (Khan) because he was my best friend and he had even fought for me with Salman. And he had told me, ‘I will sort it out, don’t worry!’ I felt bad that I had let a friend down. Till date, Sohail has not been able to forgive me...I speak to Arbaaz but I understand that I let down Sohail the most!”
