AP Assembly pays tributes to Telugu film director Bapu

 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly today paid glowing tributes to eminent Telugu film director, cartoonist and artist Bapu who passed away in Chennai yesterday.

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly today paid glowing tributes to eminent Telugu film director, cartoonist and artist Bapu who passed away in Chennai yesterday.

Moving the condolence motion in the House, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said Bapu was the pride of the Telugus.

"Through his art and films, Bapu has left an indelible impression. His pictorial depiction of Hindu mythology was appreciated across the world. His feature films were classics," he said.

The state government would build a world-class cultural auditorium in Vijayawada and it would be named after Bapu and his soul-mate Mullapudi Venkata Ramana.

The existing museum in Vijayawada would also be named after Bapu while life-size statues of Bapu-Ramana would be installed on the banks of river Godavari, the Chief Minister announced.
Leader of Opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, Minister Ch Ayyannapatrudu, MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, cine actress and MLA R K Roja and others also paid tributes to Bapu.

Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao recalled his association with the ace director.
