New Delhi: Action star Akshay Kumar is known for climbing skyscrapers and jumping from the high-raise roof tops. But, what's interesting about the 'khiladi' Kumar is that he does believe in spreading the word about fitness and self-defence to one and all.

Akki will be seen with Bollywood's chocolaty actor-turned-rugged fighter Sidharth Malhotra in 'Brothers'. His co-star had all the good words for superstar Akshay. Sid was quoted as saying at an event, "It is highly-commendable with what he (Akshay Kumar) is giving back to society, especially to the women. He is a great martial (art) artist and he has taught them that... Girls will kick the guys who mess with them. We will go on graduation day to give certificates and I am excited about it,"

Sidharth hailed Akshay's attempt of training women in self-defence. The 47-year-old superstar has launched a martial arts school to impart self-defence training to women in suburban Mumbai.

"In few days, I will be giving certificate to 600 women as I have finished training them. Altogether we have finished training 4,000 women. I know it is a small number, but it is a good initiative as they have gained confidence apart from defending them," Akshay said. The actor said he was teaching the women only basics and not the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) which takes time. Siddharth will join him while handing over the certificates to women, asaid Akki.

"It is not about teaching them MMA but only the basics. Training them in MMA will take a lot of time and these are women who are working and they don't have enough time."

While launching a game based on the movie, Siddharth said, "It is very exciting that they have come up with a game like this. I saw how the characters look in the game and they have taken efforts to make it authentic to the film. I have played some portions of the game and I enjoyed it."

The actor said whenever he gets time he prefers playing outdoor games but he loved seeing himself in game avatar. "It is a fun boy kind of a moment (sic). Playing game on desktop and then on play station and then having a game with your name is exciting," he added.

"Brothers" is an upcoming action-drama, based on Mixed Martial arts (MMA) directed by Karan Malhotra.

The film, an official remake of the 2011 Hollywood film "Warrior", stars Akshay Kumar, Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez in leading roles. It is slated for release on August 14, 2015.
