Mumbai: Actor Rana Daggubati says the southern film industry is yet to experiment with movies of specific genres.

Sharing the difference between Hindi and southern films, Rana said: "South Indian cinema is usually made to cater to a larger auditorium and specific genre films are fewer."

Among the Hindi movies, his "recent favourite" is Shoojit Sircar's ‘Piku’, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan.

"I called Shoojit and Deepika after I saw the film and congratulated them for such a fine film. It was truly touching and Mr, Bachchan was at his best... outstanding in every way," he added.
