Preity Zinta-Ness Wadia case: Police likely to recreate altercation scene

New Delhi: The police might finally get some lead in the Preity Zinta-Ness Wadia case as the 39 year-old actress has arrived in Mumbai, as asked by the Mumbai police, to give a detailed information of the entire incident as it happened.

Preity had left for US after registering a case against her former boyfriend Ness, accusing him of public humiliation and abusive behaviour.

The Mumbai Police will take the actress to the places where the incident occured, and is likely to recreate the entire altercation scene.

The Mumbai Police have recorded statements of seven witnesses in relation with the complaint filed by Preity against him.

Preity filed a written complaint on June 13 following which an FIR was registered against Wadia under IPC Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman).

Out of the seven people, five of them have confirmed Preity`s allegations and acknowledged that the incident did take place.

The statement of BCCI secretary Sanjay Patil has also been recorded. So far, the police have recorded eight statements. Police on Thursday also questioned COO Sundar Raman.

Preity, who was supposed to come back to India on Thursday evening, is likely to record her statement today.

The police want to investigate the case further by recording a complete statement of the 39-year-old actress as soon as she is back from the US, to have a better clarity of the entire scenario.

According to latest reports, Preity has already landed in Mumbai.

After almost a week long tussle between the two former lovers, Preity's statement is likely to provide a new angle to the hate story that developed between the two.

On arrival from the US, she refused to comment anything on the entire issue.

According to sources, it has also been learnt that Preity will most likely not record her statement at the Marine Drive police station.

The police has also seeked the reply to the alleged threatening emails by Ness Wadia, that she had sent to him.

Preity will finally record her statement tomorrow.
