Los Angeles: Actress Rosamund Pike is in talks to play the female lead opposite actor Christian Bale in upcoming film "The Deep Blue Good-by".
Written by John D. MacDonald in 1964, "The Deep Blue Good-by" is a film adaptation of the first of 21 novels by the author, reports variety.com.
Bale will play the role of Travis McGee, a salvage consultant who recovers others` property for a fee and along the way gets into trouble fighting bad guys and wooing women. However, Pike`s role hasn`t been disclosed yet.
Directed by James Mangold, the film`s script is written by Dennis Lehane, with Scott Frank working on the most recent draft.
Shooting and release dates of the film are yet to be finalised.
