Mumbai: Looking back at the starting point of her career in Bollywood with "Chashme Baddoor" in 2013, actress Taapsee Pannu says she owes a lot to David Dhawan for seeing potential in her and giving her a chance.

The "Baby" actress reminisced about the movie as it clocked three years since its release on Tuesday.

Taapsee made a shift from southern cinema to Hindi filmdom with "Chashme Baddoor", which also stars Ali Zafar, Siddharth and Divyendu Sharma.

"It was sheer good luck that such a successful director decided to work with younger people for the first time, and especially me who was a newcomer for Hindi industry," she said in a statement.

The actress added: "I still can't thank him enough for giving me a perfect start with a commercial entertainer which helped me get to masses. He didn't even audition me and went with his instinct after he met me once. I owe my kick-start to him."

Taapsee is now working on films like "Pink" with Amitabh Bachchan and "Ghazi" with Rana Daggubati.
