New Delhi: The debut show of ‘Let’s Design’ winners, Vedangi Agarwal and Josh Goraya, took place at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) on Sunday.
The hotly contest by Cotton Council International has helped bring cotton fibre for design use to the forefront. Young, upcoming designers showcase their cotton designs in a contemporary context and are helping to reignite a passion for working with cotton among the Indian fashion and textile fraternities.
Josh Goraya worked with a menswear collection called ‘Alter Nature’ exploring a full spectrum of cotton fabrics, batiste, organdy, chambray, denim, twill, jersey, canvas and other fabrics. The palette contains tones of navy, off-white and grey to create vibrant mosaics with unexpected highlights of red. Masculine silhouettes dominate the collection.
‘Aurora’ by Vegangi Agarwal uses warm colours of the sun while using cotton sateen, matty, twill and cambric to create. The collection highlights delicate gold embroidery.

Josh and Vedangi are great advocates for cotton, using high quality fabrics in their collections and we’re delighted to be working with them.”
Renowned designer and ‘Let’s Design’ judge Rina Dhaka congratulated the pair on their debut collections. “They should both be very proud,” Rina said. “Both collections showed immense talent and maturity, and a deep understanding of the possibilities of cotton.”
