Recipe: Mango Chunda

A delicious and savoury Aam ka Chunda could be taken as a condiment alongside any Gujarati or North Indian meal. The uniqueness of this food item is its assortment of savoury and sweet taste. Also known as Khaman, the dish is made with raw mangoes. Learn quick ways to make this sweet dish when the mango season comes around!  

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup - grated mango

¼ tbsp - chilli powder

1 tsp - roasted cumin seeds

¼ - turmeric powder

Salt to taste

Sugar

 

METHOD:

Peel the magoes and wash them clean

Now make a mixture of grated mangoes, salt and turmeric powder, keep it aside

Add sugar to the mango mixture, keep stirring the mixture for 30 to 35 minutes.

In a pan put this mixture and put on flame. Stir the entire mixture till the sugar has dissolved completely and small bubbles appear on the surface

After this, remove the pan and let it cool

Add a little bit of chilli powder and cumin seeds

Put the mixture in a sterilized glass jar or bottle

You can keep Aam ka Chunda for a long time this way
