Fans petititon to watch Rupert Grint`s sex-and-drug movie

London: Rupert Grint`s independent flick `Cherrybomb` may have failed to attract distributors but the `Harry Potter` star has found a support in his fans, who are petitioning to watch the coming-of-age movie.

The film, which shows Grint appearing in a series of steamy sex scenes and taking drugs, won rave reviews at various film festivals after its premiere at the Berlin Film Festival in February but is still looking for a distributor to get it on big screen, Daily Mail reported.

Grint, hoping to shift to the realms of adult acting with the gritty drama, has found unlikely support from his legions of fans, who have started a petition calling on film
distributors to take action.

More than 10,000 people have signed a petition so far, including 1,338 in the UK and 4,849 in the US.

The film also stars James Nesbitt, newcomers Kimberley Nixon and Robert Sheehan, and is a join directional project from Lisa Barros D`Sa and Glenn Leyburn.

Grint`s role in the movie is a complete opposite of his character of Ron Weasley in `Harry Potter` films.

The movie tells the story of two Malachy (Grint) and Robert Sheehan (Luke) and how their perfect summer is disturbed with the arrival of stunning Michelle (Nixon).

As Michelle seductively encourages a dirty competition for her heart, these two best friends soon become worst enemies and their chilled-out holiday is transformed into a
wild descent into drinking, drugs, sex and a deadly end to the competition.
