I`m terrified: `50 Shades of Grey` author EL James on movie

London: `Fifty Shades of Grey` writer EL James has said that she is "terrified" of her book being adapted into a highly-anticipated film.

The big-screen version of her best-selling novel will star Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, and is to be directed by Nowhere Boy`s Sam Taylor-Wood, reported Digital Spy.

The author recently acknowledged that she feels tremendous pressure for `Fifty Shades of Grey` to be a hit.

"I`m terrified. Completely. I`ve been terrified from the moment I published the book. My mother was terrified of everything, and so am I. It`s a terrible way to grow up. You don`t expect this kind of success.

"Even now it floors me. My only ambition for the books was to see them in bookstores. This is huge," she said.
James also revealed that she was initially hesitant to allow `Fifty Shades of Grey` to be made into a film.

"I didn`t know if it was the right thing to do. And then I thought, `I`m middle-aged; when in the hell am I going to get another chance to make a movie in Hollywood?` That was the final thing: Let`s go for it. Let`s see if we can have some fun with it."

`Fifty Shades of Grey` will be released on Valentine`s Day weekend in 2015.
