Los Angeles: Actress Tara Reid has said that she was initially embarrassed by the first `Sharknado` movie.
The 38-year-old actress has disclosed that she refused to promote the disaster movie when it first aired on Syfy in 2013 because she feared that `Sharknado` would end her career, reportedly.
"When I first did it, it was called Dark Skies, so I thought, `Okay, it`s not gonna sound so bad on my resume... it`ll be fine`. And then, all of a sudden, they`re like, `We`re changing the name to Sharknado`. I said, `Oh my God, this is it! My career is over`," Reid said.
"I begged them to change the name. It was horrible. They said, `Trust us, it`ll work`."
Reid also said that she tried not to worry as she thought no-one would ever watch the film.
"When it came out, I never told anyone about it. I thought, `Okay, it`s on Syfy, no-one will ever see it`. When it became this phenomenon, I was like, `Are you joking me, is this really happening?`"
