Michael Fassbender won`t campaign for Oscars

Los Angeles: Michael Fassbender has decided not to campaign for the Oscars this year despite having a strong role of an evil plantation owner in McQueen`s `12 Years a Slave`.

The actor, who had previously campaigned for his role of a sex addict in `Shame` without much success, told GQ that he would be busy working instead of promoting the movie, which has a strong Oscar buzz.

"You know, I get it. Everybody`s got to do their job. So you try and help and facilitate as best you can. But I won`t put myself through that kind of situation again. It`s just a grind. And I`m not a politician. I`m an actor," Fassbender said.

The actor would be busy filming his production company`s first feature in New Zealand and then shooting Macbeth with Marion Cotillard.

"I`m going to be busy working. I just don`t really have time."
