Review: ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs’ breaks the monotony

If you and your kid love cheeseburgers, doughnuts, pizzas and bacon, then this one’s the movie for you. You must’ve heard about raining cats and dogs but what if it starts raining pizzas, burgers and sausages?? Yummy no? So go and grab the real burger and catch the reel burger alongside!

The movie, which is directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, has amazingly funny voiceovers by Bill Hader, Anna Faris, James Caan, Bruce Campbell, Benjamin Bratt.

In ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs’, food becomes a catalyst to tease young fantasies. The kiddies are going to enjoy the 3D effects, which are full of twists and turns. The film picks up when Flint Lockwood, a kid with a fondness for creating failed gadgets, hits bull`s eye with his invention- a mutating dynamic food replicator. But life isn’t a joyride. The overworked machine goes wrong and the size of the steaks and the hotdogs dropping from the sky grow unusually large. When watermelons as tall as giraffes and doughnuts big enough for an elephant to pass through drop from the heavens, food becomes a nightmare. And then happens the worse- food hurricanes; food avalanches and food storms create a furore. Now it`s up to Flint and his friend, the weathergirl Sam Sparks, to save the world.

This one’s funny, inventive and rather tasty. So much so that it leaves you hungry.

Rating: Three cheers for this one.
