No 'Friends' reunion: Producer David Crane

London: Ever since 'Friends' went off air in 2004, there has been constant speculation that the hit sitcom would return on TV but producer David Crane has said there will be no reunion of the cast.

The show, which aired from 1994 to 2004, had Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Mathew Perry, Courtney Cox, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow playing the main characters.

Crane, in a latest interview to Metro, has cleared the air about the return of the show, saying for ten years the makers have done everything that is possible and there is no chance that Rachael, Ross, Chandler, Monica, Phoebe and Joey will return on-screen again.

"No. Absolutely not. Definitely, definitely not. It is not like we are not on television. We did everything we wanted to do. We finished it right and put a perfect bow on it. There is no reason to go back and revisit them," Crane said.

The producer also said that it was the camaraderie in the writing room that powered 'Friends' to ten seasons that each pulled in more than 20 million viewers.

"One of the reasons we were able to sustain it was that we were in a room full of funny people: even when you're nodding off, it's very energising. When we took on a new writer, they'd have to have good samples but they also had to seem like really nice people, because if you're in a room with them for 12/14/16 hours a day, you'd better like them," he said.
