Mumbai: Sunil Grover and Kapil Sharma may have performed together even after a huge professional showdown, but the former has come out in open to express his take on ‘Guthi’ and decode the mystery.
The brain behind ‘Guthi’ was what everyone wanted to know. Many wondered if it was Kapil’s creation for his show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’. But, recently, while talking to a leading daily, Grover clarified that Guthi is his brain child and that the character belongs to him.
However, the makers seem to be on a hunt for a new ‘Guthi’, a character that is now hugely popular, courtesy Sunil Grover. The actor gave life to the character and it looked tailor made for him.
Grover, who maintained stoic silence for long, said that the channel cannot stop him from playing ‘Guthi’ elsewhere. Nonetheless, he wouldn’t mind if someone else fits into the shoes of ‘Guthi’ for CNWK, because he is hugely indebted to the show.
But the big question is- will audiences be able embrace anyone else reprising the role of Guthi, with equal warmth?
We will have to wait and watch.
