New Delhi: We have often heard that so and so actor turns a film down which falls in the lap of another one, proving a great money spinner for the lucky one who takes it up. Well, this time Vikas Bhal's 'Shaandaar' is one such film, about which it has been reported that Alia Bhatt was not the first choice to play lead.

According to Bollywood Life.com report, it was Deepika Padukone, who was approached to play the lead opposite Shahid Kapoor in this destination wedding drama. However, Dippy turned it down due to some reasons. Well, now that it is Alia who we see paired opposite Sasha—it really doesn't matter.

The movie will hit the screens on October 22, 2015.
