London: Hollywood A-listers Charlize Theron and Angelina Jolie have been line up for next major Marvel comic book adaptation of Captain Marvel aka Carol Danvers.
An insider spilled the beans that Marvel has been courting Jolie to direct the project, and Theron is a clear fan favourite for the starring role, the Daily Star reported.
Sources also informed that if the 'Mad Max' star was to get the part, then Jolie would almost certainly sign on to work with her new friend.
After recent criticisms that the 'Avengers' films only have one "token" female leading character, Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow, 'Captain Marvel' will be the first major female superhero in the Marvel Universe to front her own film.
' Captain Marvel ' will be the twentieth film to be released by Marvel Studios for the MarvelCinematic Universe and is slated for release in 2018.
