Los Angeles: HBO has confirmed that "very preliminary discussions" are going on to restore the "Deadwood" series and turn it into a film.
It is not clear how seriously the network is working on the feature film version of the popular series, that ran from 2004-06.
But actor Garret Dillahunt, who played Francis Wilcott on the series, tweeted about his willingness to work on the movie adaptation, reported Variety.
"So uh... I'm hearing credible rumours about a #Deadwood movie," he posted on Twitter.
"Come on HBO. You made the 'Entourage' movie. Give the #Deadwood fans some closure," he added.
In 2008 when HBO cancelled the show, it announced two movies, but nothing ever came of them.
