Los Angeles: Academy Award winning "Feast" director Patrick Osborne is set to direct Paramount's adaptation of Paul Pope's acclaimed graphic novel "Battling Boy".

Osborne, who helmed the 2015 Disney animated short film, which screened before "Big Hero 6" in theatres, will direct the adaptation of the 2013 novel, reported Entertainment Weekly.

"Battling Boy" focuses on the eponymous young hero, a demigod who becomes the last hope of Acropolis, a land beset by horrible demons and monsters after the death of the hero who kept them at bay, Haggard West.

During his adventure, he meets up with Aurora West, the daughter of the recently deceased crime-fighting vigilante, Haggard.

Pope's original work led to two other entries in the series, "The Death of Haggard West" and The Rise of Aurora West".

Earlier, Pope had worked on a film adaptation that was eventually postponed.
