Los Angeles: Screenwriter duo John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein have confirmed they are penning the script for the untitled new "Spider-Man" movie.

While promoting their upcoming movie "Vacation" reboot, the two made the announcement, reported Aceshowbiz.

"We can finally acknowledge that. This is the first time that we can say that we are writing it. We've been saying no comment for the last week. We're thrilled," Goldstein said.

Giving an insight into the new Spider-Man, Daley, said "He is a sharp kid" and the writer can relate to him.

"He's a sharp kid and witty and kind of deals with the fact that he's an outcast and a geek through humour.

"It is sort of the safety net for geeks like us, so I think we can totally relate to where he's coming from. As well as the superpowers, which we also have."
