John Lee Hancock in talks to direct McDonald's movie

'The Rookie' helmer John Lee Hancock is in negotiations to direct the movie based on the story of McDonald's food empire 'The Founder'.

Los Angeles: 'The Rookie' helmer John Lee Hancock is in negotiations to direct the movie based on the story of McDonald's food empire 'The Founder'.

Hancock, 57, hasn't confirmed yet whether he will be a part of the film or not, said The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie is written by Robert Siegel which portrays the true story of how Ray Kroc, a salesman met Mac and Dick McDonald, who were running their burger business in South California and how they created a billion dollar empire.

Jeremy Renner and Don Handfield are producing the film. The cast has not yet been decided. The tone of the script of 'The Founder' is said to be similar to 'The Social Network' and 'There Will be Blood'.

Hancock is known for directing sports-based movies including 'Saving Mr Banks' and 'The Blind Side'.
