'Jupiter Ascending' tops international box office

Washington: Andy and Lana Wachowski's sci-fi adventure 'Jupiter Ascending' has topped the international box office chart with a strong kick-off in China, where it earned 23.2M dollars out of a total 25.3 Mdollars frame overseas.

Neill Blomkamp's ' Chappie ' was strong in Asia, grabbing more than a third of its 13.7M dollars weekend total there, Deadline.com reported.

Disney's 'Big Hero 6' has crossed 600 million dollars and has overtaken 'Tangled' to become the 3rd-highest-grossing Disney animated release of all time behind 'Frozen' and 'The Lion King.'

China was key to ' Jupiter Ascending' and 'Big Hero 6' at the international box office.
