Kunal Kohli's film 'Phir Se' gets green signal from Supreme Court

New Delhi: After the Bombay High Court gave green signal to the release of Kunal Kohli's `Phir Se`, the Supreme Court has cleared the release of the film.

The Bombay High Court had put interim stay on the release of film over plagiarism charges filed by writer Jyoti Kapoor. The court found  similarities between the film's script and another movie 'R.S.V.P', the script of which was written by Jyoti.

Writer Jyoti Kapoor had alleged copyright infringement and breach of confidence against Kohli and production house Bombay Film Company.

The SC has now asked the film director to pay a compensation of Rs 25 lakh and that Jyoti should be given due credit in the film.

Earlier, Jyoti Kapoor had alleged that the film story was discussed with her but was used without her permission.
