National Award ceremony takes place in Delhi

The 62nd National Film Awards ceremony took place in the capital on Sunday. They are considered the highest honourin the country in the field of entertainment. The winners were announced on March 24 earlier this year.

New Delhi: The 62nd National Film Awards ceremony took place in the capital on Sunday. They are considered the highest honourin the country in the field of entertainment. The winners were announced on March 24 earlier this year.

Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Haider' received six National Awards in 2015. Kangana Ranaut, has received the 'Best Actress' award for her performance in 'Queen'.

The Dadasaheb Phalke Award was given to veteran actor Shashi Kapoor this year.

Presented by the government of India, the event hosted by Pallavi Joshi and Rajit Kapoor is taking place at the Vigyan Bhavan Plenary Hall.

The President of India, Pranab Mukherjee handed the awards to the winners. Arun Jaitley, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Finance and Corporate affairs and Rajyavardhan Rathore, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting were also present.
