Production on live-action film 'Akira' stalled

Jaume Collet-Serra, who is on board for directing 'Akira', has confirmed that production on the live-action film has been stalled.

Los Angeles:  Jaume Collet-Serra, who is on board for directing 'Akira', has confirmed that production on the live-action film has been stalled.

Collet-Serra said he is going to take a break from filming after completing 'Run All Night' and 'Non-Stop', reported Aceshowbiz.

The news came a year after the film director confirmed he was working on the remake of 1988 Japanese film "Akira" for Warner Bros.

"No, no. There's nothing," he responded to question of the progress he had made on "Akira".

"A vacation! I truly will not make a decision on a movie for a few months because I've done these two movies in three years without any time off so I cannot wait for this movie to come out and just fade away," Collet-Serra explained further when referring to his desire to have some time off after filming "Non-Stop" and "Run All Night" back-to-back for the past three years.

When asked further if it's still possible for "Akira" to be developed, he answered, "It's a Warner Bros question."
