One Direction to take break from music next year?

London: Boy band One Direction is reportedly considering a break after completing its upcoming fifth album and a tour.

While singer Harry Styles, 21, is keen to record a solo album, bandmate Louis Tomlinson, 23, wants to fulfill his dream of becoming an X Factor judge, reported the Daily Mirror.

"The band is to go on a break after promoting the fifth album next year, possibly with a number of live tour dates around the world," a source said.

Simon Cowell, who made the band on "X-Factor" in 2010, is keen to keep the band together for a long term and wants to give them time off so they come back stronger.

Dismissing the apparent split of the band, a One Direction spokesperson said it was "all pure speculation and not based on any facts."
