Ravindra Jain obituary: Geet Gaata Chal, you are still alive in our hearts!

With his reach in myriad of languages, Ravindra Jain touched the hearts of many with his beautiful music. Not only was his music soulful, but also his approach to his work was commendable.

This can be reiterated by one incident that happened in his life and which stands testimony to the fact how much he respected his work. On the day his father died, he was in the recording sessions of one of his movies. He waited till the sessions were over. No wonder, his immense love for his music also reflects in the gamut of works he has done. The musical genius is no more. It is a tragic loss to the entire music fraternity.

Born with the disability of blindness, there was nothing that stopped this maestro from achieving what he aspired to achieve.

His love for music was right there from his childhood, and he was a close follower of music of 1950s. From an earlier age, Jain was known for his excellence in the basics of music and lyrics writing.

Raised in Aligarh, the music composer is famous for his everlasting song Ankhiyon Ke Jharoke Se.

He has given some beautiful music in movies like Chor Machaye Shor, Geet Gaata Chal, Chitchor, Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Do Jasoos, Heena, apart from many non-Hindi ventures that he took like: Sujatha, Sukham Sukhakaram, Aakashathinte Niram, Kunba,Gomti ni Shakhe, Shree Krishna Sharnam Mamah, Jaisa ghar ki devi, Goan Desh, and many more.

Now that's an un-ending list! Such was the galore of this talented musician.

Apart from this, Jain had composed music for many other television serials, bhajans, albums etc.

Music was definitely his passion. As if his mere presence wasn't enough, he made considerable contribution by bringing in talented faces to the whole spectrum of creativity. One of them is South Indian sensation Dr. K. J Yesudas, both of them have produced many beautiful songs together.

The composer had also teamed up with Asha Bhosle for the album Om Namo Shivay.

Ravindra Jain composed the soulful music of movie 'Vivah' – for which, again, he earned accolades from a many lot.

Although the music composer is no more with us, his magnetic music will remain eternal. We can say, Geet Gata Chal, the soul of revered Ravindra Jain!
