Mumbai: Superstar Salman Khan has addressed the controversy over the use of a qawwali song "Bhar Do Jholi" in his upcoming film "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", saying he will look into the legal issues of the matter if there are any.

Reportedly, Amjad Sabri, a prominent qawwali singer from Pakistan, has planned to sue the producers for using the qawwali, to which he claims to own the copyright, without permission.

"This is the qawwali we have heard since childhood. It is our rendition. Sabri brothers' family not liking our rendition of the qawwali is like my grandchildren not respecting Being Human," Salman said about the singer's accusations.

"I don't think somebody from the family would have done this. I don't think there is a legal issue. If there is any legality then we will see it," he said.

The original qawwali was written by Purnam Allahabadi, composed by Maqbool Sabri, and performed by the Sabri Brothers in 1975.

The reworked version of "Bhar Do Jholi" is composed by Pritam Chakraborty and sung by Adnan Sami. Directed by Kabir Khan, "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" will hit the screens on July 17.
