Los Angeles: Pop star Taylor Swift has allowed Apple Music to stream her latest album, "1989".

The 25-year-old country-turned-pop superstar made the announcement, just days after Apple agreed to pay royalties during the free 3-month trial of their new music streaming service, set to launch on June 30, reported Ace Showbiz.

"After the events of this week, I've decided to put '1989' on Apple Music...And happily so," Swift said on Twitter.

She went on explaining the real reason why she changed her mind, "In case you're wondering if this is some exclusive deal like you've seen Apple do with other artists, it's not. This is simply the first time it's felt right in my gut to stream my album. Thank you, Apple, for your change of heart."

Apple's vice president of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue has confirmed that Swift's newest album will indeed be on the streaming service. He posted a link to one of her tweets and simply added, "See you on #AppleMusic on June 30th!"

Last weekend, Swift criticised Apple in an open letter on her Tumblr, saying she found the company's decision not to compensate artists, writers or producers during the free trial period "shocking, disappointing, and completely unlike this historically progressive and generous company."

Less than 24 hours after the letter was posted online, Cue responded by announcing Apple's change of policy.
