Adele’s voice surgery a ‘success’

New York: Adele underwent a successful vocal chord surgery on Monday but her events for the year remain cancelled.

The 23-year-old singer had a benign polyp due to which her vocal chords were bleeding.

Her surgeon, Dr. Steven Zeitels, a laryngeal surgery specialist, had performed a similar procedure on the Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler in 2006.

The Massachusetts General Hospital spokesman announced that the singer is expected to make a full recovery, New York Daily News reported.

Earlier this year Adele had suddenly cancelled all her shows in UK and US and had announced her voice problems on twitter.

Fans assumed the worst and news quickly spread that she had cancer.

Her representatives shot down such rumours and set the record straight.

“We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a haemorrhaged vocal chord… all reports regarding any other condition are 100 percent false,” they announced last week.
