New Delhi: More than three million honeybees died in a single farm after being sprayed with Zika prevention pesticide in South Carolina recently. On Sunday, an aerial pesticide spraying operation killed the inhabitants of 46 hives on the spot.

This mass bee slaughter occurred in Summerville's Flowertown Bee Farm and Supply without any proper official notice.

Juanita Stanley, who co-owns the company, said the farm “looks like it’s been nuked,” the AP reports.

The Charleston Post and Courier, "I am not pleased that so many bees were killed." In response to this massive bee death, a bee activist group started a petition a hashtag to end Naled spraying in the county.
