A new network for women from diverse fields has been launched in the UK.

London: A new network for women from diverse fields has been launched in the UK.

Founded by award-winning London-based dancer Arunima Kumar, the Women India Network (WIN) was launched recently to coincide with International Women's Day celebrations this month.

"The biggest pain for women today is the pain of being invisible and alone. Together we are a voice and community, as individuals our scope is limited," Kumar said.

The aim of WIN is to be a support and spring board to enable women in their calling, whatever it may be, and to become a circle of friendship and trust to enable us in our journeys," said Kumar, who most recently choreographed a special dance performance for the Buckingham Palace launch of UK India Year of Culture celebrations last month.

The network includes professionals, businesswomen, media personalities, artists, technology experts, homemakers and students.

"The unifying thread for the members is pride and love for India and a shared purpose of contributing to India?s growth story and giving back through mentorship, investments and charity work," Kumar added.
