New Delhi: Actress Anushka Sharma is embroiled in a plagiarism row just a week after launching her clothing line. Her company has been accused of copying clothing designs from several Chinese e-commerce websites selling apparels.

The actress launched her clothing line - Nush - last Wednesday with an autumn-winter collection of 160 designs. Her company said that she has been deeply involved in the designing process, along with desigeners and stylists. Days after the launch though, there were accusitions that some of the designs are copies.

Suditi Industries, which owns the brand Nush, however has blamed manufacturing units in China for sharing the designs. "We have just got to know about the discrepancies in some designs of our brand NUSH and we are taking strict action about the same," said Pawan Agarwal, CMD at Suditi Industries. "Our process at Suditi industries was that the entire responsibility of designing and procuring samples was at our end and we have recently realised that some of our procured designs from the Chinese manufacturer were being available elsewhere too. This not only is a serious design and procurement process lapse from our design and procurement team but also a breach of trust by the manufacturing company in China with us."

Agarwal further said that some of the questionable designs had 'commonalities with prevelent fashion trends' and were not exactly copies. "We, along with our partner Ms. Anushka Sharma are also ensuring that these specific designs are not put on floor and will discard this out from our range".
