Rohtak: Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, who is serving a 20-year-jail term for sexual exploitation of two women, "is likely to go insane," said a jail inmate, recently out on bail.
The inmate, Swadesh Kirad, claimed that the self-styled godman has been "murmuring to himself in Punjabi" saying, "Rabba, mera kya hoga! (God, what will happen to me?)".
Kirad confirmed authorites' statement that no VIP treatment is being given to Singh, and he's being treated like a regular prisoner.
“The day the Dera sect chief was lodged in jail, he kept murmuring 'Oh god what is my fault',” he added.
Earlier, it was reported that the Dera chief spent a sleepless night in the Rohtak jail on August 28 - the day when he was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment in a rape case.
The 50-year-old-self-styled godman only drank water at night, and took milk on the morning of August 29, an official earlier said.
Singh refused to talk to anyone and was seen roaming in the prison cell.
A special CBI court on Monday sentenced Ram Rahim Singh to 20 years in jail for the rape of his two followers, holding he acted like a "wild beast" who did not even spare his own "pious" female disciples.
