Diabetic woman dazzles doctors by giving birth to 6-kg baby boy in Hyderabad

The mother named Shabana Begum, hailing from Borabanda stunned the doctors by giving birth to the baby at Niloufer hospital

New Delhi: In rarest of the rare incidents, a diabetic woman from Hyderabad gave birth to a baby boy weighing a whopping 6 kilos.

The mother named Shabana Begum, hailing from Borabanda stunned the doctors by giving birth to the baby at Niloufer hospital.

A couple of days before the delivery, doctors performed scanning on the mother and expected the baby to weigh around 5 kg.

But to their utter surprise, the baby weighed 6 kilos after he was born to the diabetic mother.

The standard weight of Indian newborns is between 2.5 to 3.5 kilos and a diabetic mother gives birth to a baby weighing 4 kg maximum.

Meanwhile, both the mother and baby are in good health and currently under observation.
