CBI gives clean chit to Tatas in 2G scam

The CBI has told the JPC that the Tatas had done nothing wrong to get 2G licences.

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Wednesday told the JPC that the Tatas had done nothing wrong to get 2G licences, thus giving a clean chit to the industry group in the alleged telecom spectrum scam.

The probe agency that is looking into what is billed as one of the biggest scandals in India said in its status report to the JPC looking into 2G and other telecom issues, that Tata Teleservices Ltd. had followed all the rules and was not favoured for licenses for mobile phone services using scarce second generation radio waves.
