Clooney takes action against ‘false’ Paris slamming quote

Actor George Clooney is furious at reports which say that he blasted socialite Paris Hilton after she was sent back to prison last week.

Washington, June 13: Actor George Clooney is furious at reports which say that he blasted socialite Paris Hilton after she was sent back to prison last week.

The ‘Ocean’s Thirteen’ actor was recently quoted by several media outlets for his supposed swipe at troubled Paris.

The 46-year-old actor accused Paris of using ‘cheap publicity tricks’ and insisted that when people have no ‘talent’ they use tricks to maintain their celeb status.

"You can only get so far without any discernible talent. Then you either work or use cheap publicity tricks to keep the public's attention ... Then you are in no position to complain if, like Paris, you are on the receiving end of bad publicity,” TMZ quoted Clooney, as saying.

But now, Clooney is asserting that he did not slam the heiress and is pissed at the people who said he did.

Clooney's rep sent KP International, which circulated the quote, a letter demanding an instant retraction and an apology.

In addition to that, Clooney wants the source of the story to be named.
