Kanpur, Oct 09: A woman and a child were among five
persons killed and six others were injured in a powerful
explosion on Monday in a house near the air force station in
Chakeri area here where firecrackers were being manufactured
illegally.
Senior Superintendent of Police P C Meena said the
explosion inside the house was so powerful that adjoining
buildings were also damaged under its impact.
He said three of the injured were admitted to the air
force hospital here while the others were taken to a
government hospital.
The senior police and administration officials have
reached the spot.
